Kennedy And Stargell Wounded In Action

Two Adams County boys, Pfc. James C. Kennedy and Pvt. Glen Stargell, have been reported wounded in action on the Western Front in Germany. Last Thursday, Glen’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Stargell, Sr., received a letter from their son, informing them that he was wounded at Luxemburg, December 10, 1944. He suffered an ankle wound and is now in a hospital in England. Although the news of his injury was naturally not received with joy, yet the letter was a welcome relief to a period of several weeks of anxiety, during which time no word was received from Glen. So far the parents have received no official information from the War Department.

Mr. and Mrs. James P. Kennedy received a message from the government Monday, stating that their son, Pfc. James C. Kennedy, had been slightly wounded in action in Belgium on January 7. No details were given and his address is to be forwarded from the hospital.

Pfc. Kennedy has been with the 3rd Armored Division in the First Army and has just recently been awarded both the Expert Infantryman’s medal and the Combat Infantryman’s Badge.
