KEELINE MADE AIR FORCE CAPTAIN
William S. Keeline, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Keeline, 98 Fourth street, has recently been promoted from first lieutenant to captain, it has been announced by Brig. Gen. William H. Turner, commanding general of the India China Division Air Transport Command.
Capt. Keeline has been in the army since Feb. 16, 1941, and is the adjutant of the Assam Wing of the India China division. In civilian life he attended Abraham Lincoln high school in Council Bluffs.
He has been in the India-Burma theater since June 17, 1944, serving with the famed India-China division of the air transport command. This division, in pioneering large-scale aerial transport to the Orient and in accomplishing it’s tremendous objectives, has written a great chapter in air history. It’s significance in building the air transport command’s global-girdling airways systems will not be fully apparent until after the war is won, whne the “Hump” and other ICD routes take their places along all ATC’s routes, airways of peace, pioneered in war.
