Private Ralph Junck, stationed in the engineering division at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, spent the weekend on a three-day pass visiting his parents and sisters at 4530 Central Avenue.

CPL. MERLIN JUNCK WOUNDED IN ACTION

Cpl. Merlin C. Junck was wounded in action on December 1, in France, where he was serving with an armored infantry division, according to a telegram received by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Claus Junck, 4530 Central avenue.  He has been awarded the Purple Heart.

A graduate of Central high school, Cpl. Junck entered the service in December, 1942, and was stationed at Camp Chaffee, Ark.  He was sent overseas in September, 1944.  His brother, Pvt. Ralph I. Junck, is with an engineering division of the Third army.
