LOCAL MEN ARE GIVEN CITATIONS
2nd Lt. Donald D. Beezley and Pfc. William D. Heller are among a group cited for distinguished and outstanding service in 100 combat missions over Europe. The group cited made its 100th mission in support of the initial landings by allied forces in France. The citation, issued by the division commanding general, covered missions to Berlin, Friedrichshaven, Poland, Frankfurt, Norway, Holland, Belgium and France.
Lt. Beezley, formerly of 1002 Fifth avenue, is serving as a bombardier on a B-24 Liberator bomber with this group.
Pfc. Heller, a clerk of the group, is formerly of 2401 Avenue C.
