IN UNIFORM
Lt. Donald E. Halverson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ellerd J. Halverson, 3122 Washington avenue, was commissioned a second lieutenant on completion of the officer candidate course at the infantry school at Fort Benning, Ga. Lt. Halverson enlisted in the army on March 15, 1943, and served as a corporal in the infantry before being commissioned. He was graduated from East high school and attended Augustana college at Sioux Falls, S.D., where he played football.
