IN UNIFORM
Charles E. Hackett, fireman first class, is expected to arrive in San Francisco this weekend, where he will be joined by his wife, Mrs. Hackett and three children who have been residing at 302 S. Prescott street. Fireman Hackett, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Hackett, 1223 17th street, is eligible for discharge. He served on the U.S.S. Maddox, destroyer with the Third fleet and a member of the 58th task force that took part in campaigns in Okinawa and Tokoyo. The ship was struck by a suicide plane January 8, and has been recommended for a presidential citation for its midnight raid on Tokyo Bay. Hackett, inducted two years ago last April, was formerly employed by Steele-Simon commission company.
