WRITES HOME
Gas masks must be carried by everyone when they leave their home, whether it be officers, enlisted men or women going to do their shopping, Clement Alfred Guillaume writes his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Guillaume, 513 W. Second street. Guillaume, who is 20 years old, is stationed on Maui, one of the Hawaiian islands group. He enlisted through the Sioux City naval recruiting station in December, 1941, and a short time ago was advanced to seaman first class. More recently he was assigned to radio communications. He also reports he has gained 25 pounds since his enlistment.
