SOLDIER ON FURLOUGH.
Private William R. Gillespie, 325th infantry, stationed at Camp Rucker, Alabama, is spending a furlough with his wife, 512 Cook street.

MEN and WOMEN IN SERVICE
Private William R. Gillespie, formerly of Sioux City, departed for maneuvers in Arizona after spending a 10-day furlough here and at Akron, Iowa, with his mother, Mrs. Dale Waterbury, who has three sons in service. Private Gillespie was a resident here four years until going into the army a year ago.

S. Sgt. William R. Gillespie, 512 Cook street, whose mother, Mrs. Vivian V. Waterbury, lives at Akron, Ia., has been awarded the combat infantrymen’s badge for exemplary conduct and skill in action against the enemy. He is a member of the 81st Wildcat infantry division.
