ON PATROL—Lloyd Nelson Halladay (left), 2821 W. 14th street, is a member of the Philippine based patrol bombing squadrons, which is attached to the Seventh fleet. The squadron’s best work was accomplished on night patrols, with midnight colored Catalinas, which were dubbed Black Cats. Halladay is a radio ordnance man first class. Others in the picture are Ralph H. Giles, aviation chief machinist’s mate, of Red Oak, Ia., and Floyd L. Sayles, aviation ordnance man, of Des Moines.
