Homer E. Garretson, 3712 Orleans street, was among the naval aviation cadets who left Kansas City Monday for the navy preflight school at Del Monte, Cal., where he will undergo three-month preflight training.

Ensign Homer E. Garretson, U.S.N.R., is spending a 24-day leave with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. S. A. Garretson, 3414 Marshall avenue. Ensign Garretson was at sea for a year, participating in campaigns of Iwo Jima, Okinawa and the Philippines. He will return to his carrier, the Sargent Bay, for duty.
