WINS SILVER WINGS
Charles A. Fischer of Meservey is among north Iowans who were graduated in July for 11 advanced flying school of the Gulf Coast training center, headquarters of which is at Randolph Field, Texas. Fischer was graduated from Ellington Field, Houston, Texas. Among others to be graduated in this area were Roderick F. Rice, Allison; Roy J. Hake, Clarion; and Orris B. Kirtley and James B. Feitus, Oelwein.

TAKES PILOT TRAINING
Meservey - Charles A. Fischer, son of Mrs. Walter A. Fischer of Meservey, is in training at the army air base at Wendover Field, Utah, as a pilot. He attended high school at Meservey and was formerly employed in a cafe in that town. Before going to Wendover Field, he took a course at Ellington Field, Texas.
