S. SGT. Edwards Dead In Belgium
Sioux Cityan Is Killed In Action, Parents Informed
S. Sgt. Donald L. Edwards, 23, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Edwards, 115 Alice Street, was reported killed in action on January 13 in Belgium, according to word received from the war department by his parents.
Sgt. Edwards, has been in the service for 15 months of which nine were spent overseas.
Surviving besides the parents are a brother in Kinzua, Oregon and two sisters, Mrs. C.B. Grey of Tacoma, Washington and Miss Dorothy Edwards of Sioux City.

According to word received from the War Department by his parents, S. Sgt. Donald L. Edwards, 23, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Edwards, 115 Alice street, was killed in action in Belgium January 13. He had been overseas nine months.

Donald Leo Edwards served in World War II with the U.S. Army 120th Infantry Regiment, 30th Infantry Division and was KIA in Belgium and awarded the Purple Heart. He is buried in Henri-Chapelle American Cemetery, Hombourg, Belgium.
