Richard C. Dennler, O/c, T.C.O.C.S., Class 17, U.S.A. Air Base, New Orleans, La., got home for Christmas. Dick spent 14 months on Trinidad one of our leased British Islands, just off the coast of Venezuela. He was a sergeant food inspector in the Medical Corps. Since January he has been training as a Transportation Corps Officer Candidate. He is especially interested in the transportation of food articles.

Dick Dennler, of Merrill, was commissioned a second lieutenant in the transportation corps after completing his officer training studies at New Orleans, La., last week, and stopped for a short visit at home en route to Denver, Colo., where he was married Wednesday to Miss Louise Mohr. Lieut. Dennler has orders to report for duty at Boston, Mass., later this month and he and his bride will leave for the East after the wedding. Dick was located in Trinidad for 15 months before taking officer training.

Richard Charles Dennler was born Sept. 8, 1912 to William Edward and Clara Amanda Mauer Dennler. He died Dec. 1, 2002 and is buried in Memorial Cemetery, LeMars, IA.
