Sgt. Arthur DeLaughter, son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy DeLaughter, is spending a furlough at home from Fort Knox, Ky. His brother, Cpl. Robert DeLaughter, who is attending radio school at the Sioux Falls army base, spent the weekend here with his family. Cpl. Warren Volkner and Cpl. Jack Egan, also at radio school, spent the weekend with the DeLaughters.

Sgt. Arthur L. DeLaughter, given an honorable discharge after being in the army three years and seven months, arrived here Sunday. He served in Italy and North Africa for about 16 months. The sergeant resides at 3533 S. Lakeport Street, and his father, Roy, resides at 802 10th Street.

Arthur L. DeLaughter was born Feb. 1, 1902 to Roy and Lydia Lorenzen DeLaughter. He died Dec. 14, 1949 and is buried in Memorial Park Cemetery, Sioux City, IA.
