Meets Local Boy in France

PVT. BERNARD DE BONDT
Pvt. Bernard De Bondt is the son of Arie De Bondt of Hull. He has been in the service since May 31, 1944 and has had one furlough. He is with the Infantry and is at present stationed in France. He states he is living in foxholes. In his last letter he said he had met Harry Van Voorst in France. Bernard has a new address which may be obtained either from his parents or from the News Office.

WOUNDED IN GERMANY

Pvt. Bernard DeBondt, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arie DeBondt, was wounded in action in Germany according to a letter received from him by his parents.  The letter was written the 26th of March and stated that his left leg was wounded and he was now in a hospital in France.  He won’t be able to use his leg for awhile, but when it is better it will be completely well again.  His new address is:  Ward 9 Hospital Plant 4318, APO 887. c/o Postmaster, New York City, N.Y.

PVT. BERNARD DE BONDT

Pvt. Bernard De Bondt, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arie De Bondt of Hull arrived in the States on Saturday, June 9. Bernard received leg wounds while in action in Germany on March 21 and was then in a hospital in Germany for some time and for the past three months has been in a hospital in Paris. He entered the service on May 31, 1944 and went overseas in November of ’44, shortly after a furlough which he spent at the home of his parents. He writes that he is getting along pretty well but he is also suffering from back trouble. He is now in a hospital in Texas and his new address is: 37697784, Ward 159, Asburn General Hosp., McKinney, Texas.

Pvt. Bernard De Bondt, who has been in the hospital at McKinney, Tex. for some time after being wounded overseas, arrived at the parental Arie De Bondt home Tuesday to spend a 30-day furlough at home.
