Joins Golden Mission Club
S. Sgt. Robert L. Crouch, 1019 Sixth avenue, has become a member of the 13th AAF’s Golden Mission Club in the southwest Pacific upon completion of his fiftieth mission as an engineer-gunner with a squadron of B-35 Mitchells on a bombing strike to the Celebes.
The 13th’s club is made up of a small group of officers and men who have flown from a Solomons base to crush the Japs at Munda, Kahill and Rabaul. More than 30 of Crouch’s missions were in the Solomon theater.
The son of Mrs. Dorothy L. Young, Shenandoah, and a Thomas Jefferson high school graduate, Crouch has been in the south Pacific since January, 1944.
