East High Grad Injured in Action in Iwo Fighting
Cpl. Robert D. Cresap, a member of the Fifth marine division, was wounded on Iwo Jima, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. R. Cresap, 3214 Marshall avenue, have been informed by the War Department. A graduate of East high school and a former Journal carrier, Cpl. Cresap is convalescing in a hospital in the Pacific. Not seriously wounded, he expects to return to his outfit. Last year he participated in the campaigns at Choiseul island and Vella La Vella in the Solomons.
His brother, Cpl. Alfred S. Cresap, is in France with the Seventh army antiaircraft artillery motor pool, and has been overseas two years, serving in north Africa, Sicily, Sardinia and Corsica.
