Sergeant John S. Corliss, formerly of 4433 Garfield Street, has been promoted from the rank of private and is assigned to the tank destroyer replacement training center at North Camp Hood, Texas.

Pvt. John Corliss, whose home address is 209 ½ S. Linn street, has been cited for bravery by the 351st spearhead infantry regiment of the 88th Blue Devil division, and awarded the combat infantryman badge for participation in combat against the enemy with the Fifth Army in Italy. The badge consists of a silver rifle set against a background of infantry blue and enclosed in a silver wreath.
