Lt. Winston M. Cavaneau

 

 

 

NEWS OF OUR MEN and WOMEN IN UNIFORM

First Lt. and Mrs. Winston M. Cavaneau arrived in New York City this week from England and are expected home soon to visit his mother, Mrs. Hazel Cavaneau and other relatives and friends. Lt. and Mrs. Cavaneau, the former Miss Freda E. Parkin of Cambridge, Eng., were married last June 19 in Cambridge. Lt. Cavaneau enlisted in the R. C. A. F. about 4 years ago, transferring to the United States Army Air corps a year ago. He has served as a pilot in England for 3 years. “Cavy” was a graduate of the Mapleton high school, where he was an outstanding football star. He attended the University of Omaha and was employed at Burson’s Drug Store several months before enlisting in the R. C. A. F.

Winston Mitchell Cavaneau was born Feb. 2, 1920 to Mitchell and Hazel Baker Cavaneau. He died Mary 14, 1988 and is buried in Barrancas National Cemetery, Pensacola, FL.

Chief MSgt. Cavaneau served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps. He also served in Korea and Vietnam.
