Notes About N.E. Iowans in the Service
IOWA FALLS—Staff Sgt. Robert Carpenter is spending an 18-day furlough with his wife, and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Vern Carpenter. He has just returned to the United States after a 40,000 mile inspection tour of armored equipment in the Pacific. He has been assigned to the West Point Military academy as an instructor in armored equipment.

Robert Wilbur “Bob" Carpenter was born Sept. 2, 1918 to Verne L. and Elsie O. Buchanow Carpenter. He died Sept. 24, 1993 and is buried in Union Cemetery, Iowa Falls, IA.
