Three Sons of Couple Are Serving Uncle Sam
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Carpenter, 1006 West Seventh, hve three sons all of whom are serving Uncle Sam. One son is in the Army, the second in the Marines, and the third in a CCC camp.
Ray W. Carpenter enlisted in the Army in March. He is now attending the academy of aeronautics at New York City. Charles R. Carpenter enlisted in the Marine Corps in July and is stationed at San Diego, Cal. Walter E. Carpenter is a member of the CCC camp at Moville, Ia.
Ray and Charles were graduated from the high school at Sergeant Bluff, Ia.

HOME ON FURLOUGH
Private Charles R. Carpenter is spending a 10-day furlough with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Carpenter, 1006 West Seventh. Private Carpenter has just completed his training at the Marine base, San Diego, Cal. On his return to the base he will study chemical warfare.
