LOCAL NEWS.
Elton Carey has applied for immediate induction and expects to leave Sunday for the first lap of his army V-12 training.

Elton Carey and Meinert Orban left last night for Des Moines to be inducted into the army. They asked for prior induction and expect to take part in the V-12 program. When they left they did not know where they would be sent for training.

Elton Carey arrived home Tuesday noon to spend his 15-day furlough in the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Carey.  Elton is now stationed at Camp Swift, Texas.

Elton Hawley Carey was born June 23, 1925 to Elton H. and Elsie Madeline Hyink Carey. He died Jan. 30, 2013 and is buried in Fullerton, CA.
