BOWERS RECEIVES HIS PILOT WINGS
Recently graduated from the Army Air Forces Advanced Flying school at Yuma, Ariz., was Lt. Chester Arthur Bowers, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Bowers, 533 Clark avenue. Lt. Bowers completed his primary and basic training at Santa Maria, Calif., and Minter Field, Bakersfield, Calif. He was commissioned June 9, 1941, and was stationed at Camp Hale, Colorado, prior to being called for pilot training. Lt. Bowers attended Council Bluffs high school and the University of Nebraska, earning his bachelor of science degree in 1912. he was a member of the Hearst Trophy Rifle team which won awards in the Seventh corps area.
