Trinity High Grad in First Medical Jeep Across Rhine
Pvt. James Booth, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Booth, 1025 S. Cecelia street, was in the first medical jeep that crossed the Ludendorff bridge across the Rhine river Wednesday according to two Associated Press radio broadcasts heard Friday over stations WOW and KOWH of Omaha. He is a member of the Ninth division of the 27th armored infantry battalion of the medical corps.
Pvt. Booth entered the army July 23, 1944, received his basic training at Camp Hood, Tex., and was sent overseas last January from Fort Meade, Md. He attended East high school, was graduated from Trinity high school and attended college at Conception, Mo., for two years.
Lt. Mary E. Jackson, a sister, is a nurse stationed at Camp Shelby, Miss.
