ON OKINAWA
Pvt. George Bergman, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Bergman, 3436 Avenue E, is now stationed on Okinawa. Pvt. Bergman’s older brother, John, of the marines, has been in the Pacific 27 months.

KILLED IN ACTION
Pfc. George E. Bergman, 18, son of Mr. and Mrs. John M. Bergman, 3436 Avenue E, was killed in action June 10, 1945, on Okinawa, according to word received here by his parents. He entered the infantry Sept. 17, 1944, and had been overseas about four months. He attended Thomas Jefferson high school. A brother, Marine Pfc. John Bergman, is now in the Pacific.

NOTE: PFC George E. Bergman was born July 2, 1926. He served with the 381st Infantry. There is a stone in his honor at Honolulu Memorial, Honolulu, Hawaii. ~ findagrave.com
