Cresco—Msgr. Lester V. Barnes, of Omaha, Neb., a native of Cresco, who was ordained priest at the Assumption Catholic church in Cresco several years ago, and was appointed chaplain in the army, then advanced to the rank of first lieutenant, was recently promoted to captain. He is with the coast artillery at Fort Williams, Portland, Maine. Captain Barnes is a brother of Paul Barnes of Cresco.
