Former Local Man Reported Killed
Sgt. Donald Ash, former Council Bluffs resident, was killed in France Dec. 20, according to word received here. His wife, Bessie, lives at Des Moines, and his mother, Mrs. Catherine Ash, formerly of Council Bluffs, is now living in Los Angeles. He has seven sisters and five brothers.
Sgt. Ash was graduated from St. Francis high school here in 1933. He had been overseas with an infantry unit since October. He entered the service from Des Moines three years ago.
