Lloyd Andersen Missing in Action
ALLISON – Mrs. Elbe Andersen of Allison was notified Sunday by the United States marine corps that her son, Field Cook Lloyd G. Andersen, was in the service of his country in the Manila bay area when the station capitulated. This wire said, “He will be carried on the records of the marine corps as missing pending further information.”
No report of his death has been received, the wire pointed out, and he may be a prisoner of war.
Mrs. Andersen had received a letter from her son mailed Feb. 22, in which he reported himself safe and healthy, but was not allowed to tell where he was.
Lloyd enlisted in the marine corps about two years ago. His father, George Andersen, died in March of this year after an auto-train collision.
