James William Hynes was born July 15, 1923 to John J. and Ella Eastman Hynes. He died Nov. 13, 1943 and is buried in Sicily-Rome American Cemetery, Nettuno, Italy.

Pvt. Hynes served in World War II with the U.S. Army 30th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Infantry Division and was KIA in Italy and awarded the Purple Heart.
