Robert Roland Dowd was born Dec. 8, 1922 to Loyd and Elvira Schumacher Dowd. He died June 15, 1944 and is buried in Calvary Cemetery, Sioux City, IA.

Pvt. Dowd served in World War II with the U.S. Marine Corps 6th Regiment, 2nd Marine Division and was KIA in the invasion of Saipan.
