Craig Gene Speedling was born Apr. 27, 1923 to Lenzie Leroy and Hazel Naomi Gray Speedling. He died July 24, 1944 and is buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Clarion, IA. He was initially buried in USAF Cemetery Guam 1, Asan, Guam and returned to the U.S. in 1948.
Cpl. Speedling served in World War II with the U.S. Marine Corps F Company, 2nd Battalion, 9th Marines and was wounded in action on Guam and evacuated to 2nd Battalion, 9th Marines Aid Station where he died of his wounds.
