Martin Asaph Hansen was born July 5, 1924 to Hans Peter Kristian and Dora Katherine Nielsen Hansen. He died Aug. 25, 1949 and is buried in Roland Township Cemetery, Slifer, IA. 

1st Lt. Hansen served in World War II with the U.S. Army 12th Medical Battalion, 12th Infantry Division.

Pvt. Haring served in World War II with the U.S. Army 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division. He died in a training jump accident.
