2nd Lt. White served in World War II with the U.S Army Air Corps 68th Squadron, 433rd Troop Carrier Group flying from bases in New Guinea to the Philippines. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Air Medal with five Oak Leaf Clusters among other awards and citations. He retired as Lt. Col. from the U.S. Air Force.
