Harry Bernard Barker was born Oct. 2, 1917 to Harry and Bessie Elizabeth Snodgrass Barker. He died July 21, 1944 and is buried in Saint Josephs Cemetery, What Cheer, IA. He was initially buried at 9th Marines Field Cemetery, later reinterred in USAF Cemetery Guam 3, Agana, Guam and in 1950 returned to the U.S. for permanent burial.
Capt. Barker served in World War II with the U.S. Marine Corps 9th Marines, 3rd Marine Division and was KIA on Guam. He was awarded the Navy Cross.
