Lloyd Christian Brogger was born July 2, 1913 to Eivind D. and Cora Belle Fromm Brogger. He died Dec. 7, 1944 and is memorialized at the Walls of the Missing, Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines.
Lt. Commander Brogger served in World War II with the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Liddle (DE-206). While patrolling between Ponson and Leyte Island, Ormoc Bay, the Philippines, his ship was damaged by the crash and explosion of a Japanese suicide plane on the flying bridge of the ship. The explosion resulted in many casualties. He was MIA/KIA and awarded the Silver Star and Purple Heart.
