Sgt. Miller served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 85th Squadron, 437th Troop Carrier Group and was KIA in Germany and awarded the Air Medal with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters.

Maj. Mitchell served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 8th Air Force, 93rd Bomb Group, 330th Bomb Squadron as a B-24 pilot. He was awarded the following medals-ribbons: Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medal with 4 Oak Leaf Clusters, EAME Theater and Victory.
