Pvt. Landgrebe served in World War II with the U.S. Army 7th Division and was KIA on Okinawa while engaged in repelling an attack by Japanese forces. He was with a gun crew forwarding ammunition when a bullet struck him, killing him instantly. He had served at Attu Alaska, Marshall Islands, Leyte Island Philippines and landed with the invasion force on Okinawa Apr. 1, 1945. He was awarded the Combat Infantry Badge for exemplary conduct in action in the Territory of Hawaii May 11, 1944.

Orville John Langenwalter was born Oct. 31, 1917 to John and Emma Bress Langenwalter. He died Dec. 7, 1941 and is memorialized at the Courts of the Missing, Court 3, Honolulu Memorial, Honolulu, Hawaii.
Petty Officer Langenwalter served in World War II with the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Arizona (BB-39) and was MIA/FOD/KIA in the attack on Pearl Harbor. He was awarded the Purple Heart.
