Capt. Knapp served in World War II with the U.S. Army Field Artillery and spent 38 months in the Pacific war theater.

Lt. Knous served in World War II with the U.S. Army spending 18 months overseas in Scotland, England, France, Luxembourg, Belgium, Holland, Germany, Czechoslovakia, Italy and Austria. He earned the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Bronze Star, European, African and Middle East ribbon, American theater ribbon and the Victory ribbon.
