William Martin Runge was born June 3, 1923 to Martin L. and Mida G. Galbraith Runge. He died Oct. 1984 and is buried in Pine Hill Cemetery, Davenport, IA.
Capt. Runge served in World War II with the U.S. Army 5th Ranger Battalion and was on Omaha Beach on D-Day. He was awarded the Silver Star.

Jack Eugene Russell was born Dec. 23, 1915. He died May 14, 1945 and is buried National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Honolulu, Hawaii.
Sgt. Russell served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 19th Bomb Group, 29th Bomb Squadron and was KIA as a Flight Engineer aboard B-29 Super-fortress #44-70017, when the bomber disintegrated in the air over Nagoya, Japan.
