Lloyd Herman Schrad was born Oct. 31, 1926 to Louis and Anna Meyer Schrad. He died Mar. 9, 2007 and is buried in Saint Marys Cemetery, Sac County, IA.

Lloyd served in World War II with the U.S. Army 328th Ordnance Depot Company.

Alvin Richard Schwanz was born Sept. 29, 1918 to Henry F. and Allie Ammerson Schwanz. He died June 5, 1944 and is buried in Wall Lake Cemetery, Wall Lake, IA.

Cpl. Schwanz served with the U.S. Army Air Corps in World War II.

Joseph Leonard “Joe” Simon was born Aug. 2, 1921 to Herman Joseph and Clara Elizabeth Waggoner Simon. He died Sept. 13, 1944 and is memorialized at the Tablets of the Missing, East Coast Memorial, New York City, NY and in Mount Vernon Cemetery, Elizabeth, PA.

Petty Officer Simon served in World War II with the U.S. Navy and died as the result of drowning at sea in, the Atlantic area.

Richard Franklin Smith was born Dec. 23, 1918 to Frank Mark and Janet Amelia Frank Smith. He died Feb. 15, 1943 and is buried in North Africa American Cemetery, Tunis, Tunisia and has a cenotaph in Saint Marys Cemetery, Sac County, IA.

Cpl. Smith served in World War II with the U.S. Army 168th Infantry Regiment, 34th Infantry Division and was KIA and awarded the Purple Heart.
