1st Lt. Wright served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps as a navigator on a B-24 Liberator, flying 35 missions with the Eighth Air Force over Germany. He was awarded four Oak Leaf Clusters, a Silver Oak Leaf Cluster to the Air Medal with three Bronze Stars.
