Harry Hammack Tomlin was born Feb. 23, 1918 to Martin and Lucy Hammack Tomlin. He died Jan. 5, 1944 and is buried in Ardennes American Cemetery and Memorial, Neupre, Belgium.
1st Lt. Tomlin served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 369th Bomber Squadron, 306th Bomber Group, Heavy and was awarded the Purple Heart.

Donald Glen “Don” Tornquist was born Jan. 21, 1910 to Victor F. and Frances J. Ogsbury Tornquist. He died Dec. 31, 1981 and is buried in Glendale Cemetery, Des Moines, IA.
Don served with the U.S. Army in World War II.

Eugene Merle “Gene” Tornquist was born Mar. 12, 1919 to Victor F. and Frances J. Ogsbury Tornquist. He died June 15, 1944 and is buried in Mitchellville Cemetery, Mitchellville, IA.
Lt(JG) Tornquist served with the U.S. Naval Air Corps in World War II. He was one of the few survivors of the aircraft carrier, Liscome Bay (CVE-56), when it was torpedoed and sunk off the Marshall Islands in November 1943. While piloting an airplane on a practice mission off Seal Beach, CA his plane failed to gain altitude, crashed and he was killed.

David Emerson Tower was born Oct. 17, 1920 to He died June 3, 2016 and is buried in Iowa Veterans Cemetery, Adel, IA.
LtJG Tower served in World War II with the U.S. Navy and saw active combat on the USS Marblehead (CL-12) and USS Quincy (CA-39). He served in the European Theater, the invasion of D-Day and the Pacific Theater and received a commendation for his service.

Russell Towle was born July 19, 1909 to Francis William and Mary Ann Stokes Towle. He died Oct. 25, 1944 and is memorialized at the Walls of the Missing, Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines.
Coxswain Towle served in World War II with the U.S. Navy and was MIA and awarded the Purple Heart.
