Robert Jack Rhoades was born Jan. 17, 1919 to Nate and Katherine Overfelt Rhoades. He died Mar. 1, 1942 and is memorialized at the Walls of the Missing, Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines.
Petty Officer Rhoades served with the U.S. Navy in World War II aboard the USS Asheville (PG-21) and was MIA/FOD/KIA when that ship was attacked and sank south of Java.
