Samuel J. and Georgia Anna Patterson Fillman Family:

Robert J. Fillman was born July 19, 1923 to Samuel J. and Georgia Anna Patterson Fillman. He died Mar. 16, 1944 and is buried in Glendale Cemetery, Des Moines IA.

Robert served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps and died at Lubbock, TX as the result of injuries received in an airplane accident.

Donald William Fillman was born Sept. 7, 1915 to Samuel J. and Georgia Anna Patterson Fillman. He died Feb. 20, 1976 and is buried in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery, Des Moines, IA.

Donald served in World War II with the U.S. Navy.

George Daniel Fillman was born Oct. 8, 1921 to Samuel J. and Georgia Anna Patterson Fillman. He died Sept. 20, 2005 and is buried in Magnolia Springs Cemetery, Magnolia Springs, TX.

Pvt. Fillman served in World War II with the U.S. Army Medical Detachment 113th Cavalry, 499th Medical Collecting Company; 60th Medical Detachment Headquarters; and 30th General Hospital. He was at Omaha Beach in the Normandy invasion where he was wounded and received a Purple Heart.

Robert Wayne “Doc” Finch was born Sept. 1, 1921 to Donald Truman and Celia L. Hines Finch. He died Aug. 1, 2014 and is buried in Sunny Hill Cemetery, Grimes, IA.

Robert served in World War II with the U.S. Army Veterinary Corps in Fort Worth, TX with food inspection duties and later spent a year in Japan.

Robert Joseph Fitz was born Feb. 7, 1916 to Joseph and Emma Toepfer Fitz. He died Apr. 27, 1995 and is buried in Montecito Memorial Park, Colton, CA.

Robert served in World War II with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in the European Theater of Operations Headquarters.
