Dale Fred Bohrns was born Oct. 1, 1921 to William Fred and Lillie Margaret Bertha Thoms Bohrns. He died July 12, 1945 (at sea) and is memorialized at the Walls of the Missing, Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines and in Liberty Cemetery, Calumet, IA.

Pvt. Bohrns served in World War II with the U.S. Army 313rd General Hospital and was MIA/died as the result of drowning in the Pacific Ocean while returning to the mainland aboard a U.S. ship as a patient.
