Dwain Myron Narigon was born Feb. 15, 1920 to William and Mae Cholula Ashmore Narigon. He died July 31, 2001 and is buried in Villisca Cemetery, Villisca, IA.

Major Narigon served in World War II and Korea with the U.S. Army and was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross as a First Lieutenant with Company G, 133rd Infantry Regiment (World War II) for extraordinary heroism in action against the enemy on May 28, 1944, near Lanuevo, Italy. “By his fearless and courageous actions, his exceptional leadership and tactical knowledge, 1st Lt. Narigon not only successfully completed his mission, but was an inspiration to all who saw him, thereby, reflecting great credit upon himself and exemplifying the finest traditions of the Army of the United States.”* Major Narigon’s distinguished career lasted from 1936-1962.

Edward Arthur Nelson was born Apr. 25, 1920 to Carroll and Dorothy Copenhover Nelson. He died Jan. 1981 and is memorialized at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Weston, MO.

Sgt. Nelson served in World War II with the U.S. Army 168th Infantry, 34th Division and was MIA/POW while serving his country.

Robert Johns Nelson was born Aug. 24, 1916 to Lawrence A. and Gladys Pearl Johns Nelson. He died Nov. 1, 1943 and is buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Red Oak, IA. 

1st Lt. Nelson served in World War II with the U.S. Marine Corps.

Richard Vincent Nathaniel Nimrod was born Sept. 1, 1913 to Seth N. and Edith Susanna Anderson Nimrod. He died Feb. 28, 1956 and is buried in Forest Cemetery, Omaha, NE.

Sgt. Nimrod served in World War II with the U.S. Army 168th Infantry, 34th Division and was MIA/POW while serving his country. He was awarded the Bronze Star.
