Charles Dean Rice was born Dec. 25, 1921 to Chester A. and Leota Hungerford Rice. He died Aug. 16, 2001 and is buried in Osage Cemetery, Osage, IA.
Dr. Rice served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps in New Guinea and was awarded several medals, including two Bronze Stars, Air Medal and Oak Leaf Cluster and the Distinguished Flying Cross.
