James Dwight Ballard was born Feb. 13, 1916 to Sidney Eugene and Martha Baird Dunn Ballard. He died Aug.18, 1943/FOD Aug. 19, 1944 and is memorialized at the Courts of the Missing, Court 5, Honolulu Memorial, Honolulu, Hawaii and in Woodville Cemetery, Waseca, MN.
Petty Officer Ballard served in World War II with the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Abner Read (DD-526) and was lost as sea during a Japanese kamikaze attack. He was awarded the Purple Heart.

John Frank Barton was born July 27, 1920 to Jan and Mary Cindrova Barton. He died June 23, 1945 and is buried in Saint Johns Cemetery, Cedar Rapids, IA. He was initially buried in the Island Command Cemetery on Okinawa.
Chief Cook Barton served in World War II with the U.S. Marine Corps 5th Marines, 1st Marine Division and was KIA on Okinawa in combat operations.

Emil D. Bartosh was born Nov. 7, 1909 to Frank and Mary Bartosh. He died Nov. 17, 1944 and is buried in Czech National AKA Bohemian Cemetery, Linn Co., IA. Capt. Bartosh served with the U.S. Army Infantry in World War II. He was awarded the Silver Star.
