Myron James Pietsch was born Jan. 24, 1919 to Emil Carl and Catherine “Tena" Marie Lempke Pietsch. He died Feb. 20, 1944 and is buried in Sorden Cemetery, Webster, IA.

Petty Officer Pietsch served in World War II with the U.S. Navy and was a Pharmacists Mate with the U.S. Marine Corps 22nd Marines. He was KIA on Eniwetok Island, Marshall Islands in the performance of his duty and in the service of his country.
