James Edward “Bob” Hicklin was born Sept. 13, 1924 to Thomas Jefferson and Anna C. Sellers Hicklin. He died May 24, 2016 and is buried in Forest Cemetery, Oskaloosa, IA.

James served in World War II with the U.S. Army in the Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe and was part of the Battle of the Bulge. He was awarded two Overseas Service Bars, the African Campaign Medal, the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with three Bronze Battle Stars, the Good Conduct Medal and the World War II Victory Medal.
